Help! :(

That's not that controversial.
No, it's not. That's why there's very little ability for console and PC gamers to compete against each other. If that was widely possible, more people would get sick of being "owned" by people with a controller advantage (rather than skill advantage) and would switch to PC. Which is definitely *not* what the console world wants.

Edit: a good mousemat is surprisingly important in terms of overall comfort. Not the fancy expensive gaming ones, but you do need one which has the right balance between smooth/effortless movement and comfort. I have one of the infamous Boogie Bug mats which has a very pleasant material surface, right in Goldilocks "just right" territory. Plus you buy one, and get enough mouse mat to cut up and make at least two more from. :-)

Can I suggest giving Portal or Portal 2 a go to help improve your movement skills with a mouse + KB?

As in auto aim? something that you don't get/need with a mouse?
Sorry, poor choice of wording. By "controller advantage" I meant that which the mouse has. The mouse and console control are both types of control even thoguh the mouse isn't what we usually think of when we see "controller".

I must choose my words more carefully next time. :-) But hopefully my intention was clear from the context.

You might want to play with turning mouse acceleration on/off. It will make quite difference in your aiming and you might as well settle with it on/off now rather than later. Generally you'll find a lot of the hardcore crowd prefer it off for accuracy reasons but with your background you may prefer it on (which is usually the default now).
