HELP! :(

Hi everyone! My computer is running really slow and is unable to open certain files so I told my friend and he suggested that I delete a file called "system32" I don't have any idea about computer software so I also came here before I did anything. Is this the proper thing to do? He then told me to re-download it again off the internet.

Sorry what is a defrag? And how do I do a disk clean up?

I'm running Windows and thanks I'll try that first and then if nothing happens I'll then delete system32.

Why? I don't understand what is wrong with it? My friend is very into computers and he told me to do it.

2TB but I just got off the phone to him and he said it was all a joke that it was my OS i would be deleting! But he has extra in the event I actually did it!
