I've just installed my OCZ Vertex 4 and after applying a firmware update, it's asking me to power cycle.

What the hell is this?

I've rebooted, but the firmware has not updated.......!!!

Don't reboot, after applying the firmware correctly, power *off* the computer, power back on and all should be well.

This is doing my nut in!!!!

I've switched off, left it for x amout of time, but no!!! It's not updating from 1.3.

Any Ideas???

I managed to update mine with no issues. I did the same with just a reboot - but the "off" then "on" worked ok. How about when you "power off" - You take the plug out aswell? That way it has to have been cycled? Just an idea?

edit: Oh and when it didnt work the first time with a reboot - i restarted the firmware upgrade from scratch!

This is taken from the site:

This is a two step firmware update process for firmware older than 1.4.1.2. Otherwise it is one step process.

1. Run OCZ Toolbox. Toolbox will update firmware to 1.4.1.2 first.

2. Shutdown and restart the system.

3. Run OCZ Toolbox again, Toolbox will now update firmware to latest firmware revision.

This completes the firmware update.
