I need some help.

My car (52 fiesta 1.4tdci) wouldn't start yesterday. AA man says it's the fuel pump. The car is stuck in not a great position on my girlfriends drive/car park in Worcester. Neither of us know anyone here or any garages. I've had two massively different quotes from two garages on how much it would cost to fix. Anyone know what's involved when changing the fuel pump on one of these?

Thanks.

Actually, do you have plenty of fuel in?. My dti vectra was low fuel (about 10litres left) and sucked air up and failed to start.

Needed to tow it and move the crank and bump start it and worked fine after. (i stuck 5 littres of fuel in from a jerry can before hand)

I've been quoted £250+VAT for the pump. He also said I will need to change the timing belt too. All in looking at £500ish.

It's definitely not low fuel. Filled up and did 150miles the night before.

If thats new/refurb then its probably about right

You could probably save a bit by shopping around
