HELP!

Why would that be a problem? it has more wattage than the system needs.
The drivers are my main concern because they can't possibly be from 2006

It isn't about the wattage. A poor quality PSU will not deliver the required amps over the 12v,5v and 3.3v rails no matter how big the number on the side is. Drivers and BIOS files for that motherboard are from 2012 at the earliest so I'm not sure what drivers you're talking about.

Is this a fresh install of windows?

Or have you reattached an old sata drive which has an ancient os install on it?

2006?

Thats before those parts are even made so i find that unlikely.

The absolute basic (generic) microsoft drivers that get installed such as "standard vga device" etc are mostly from 2006, even on windows 8.1 lol. Thats probably what he was referring to.

well, it's definitley an improvement on what you have, personally im not a fan of the CX series, but honestly, im fairly sure it would work at least (assuming your issue is the PSU) - if i were you, id get the superflower 550w

Corsair, like many companies that sell power supplies, don't actually make the ones they sell. The actual manufacturer for the CX series is CWT. The High Current Gamer that Stulid listed is actually made by Seasonic; much superior.

But can still be a go to PSU too?
