Hi Folks,

I need to roll out a helpdesk to three different departments (maintenance, marketing, admin) so that staff can log jobs to an email address and it will create a new ticket for that department.

Is there a helpdesk that can have multiple instances from one installation?

Have used spiceworks before as my old IT helpdesk, does it have the functionality to split into different helpdesks though?

Depends what you mean split into different help desks? Give it a try it's free? :)

It can be split into segments so that you could have a structure like Department 1 / Department 2 / Department 3 e.t.c then you can pass the jobs onto other departments e.t.c.
 
Staff need to be able to email a request to say [email protected] and this would create a ticket on the admin helpdesk, and vice versa for maintenance and marketing.

I dont want to have to install three seperate helpdesks though.
 
You also give ConnectWise a look at, its made for exactly the sort of thing you are doing - though it also depends on what you have in place to do billing, scheduling etc as it is a bit of a replacement for everything.

We use their network performance monitoring and System application monitor, just love their products.

I understand what exactly you are looking at ... take a look at Vision heldesk you can handle multiple dept for multiple companies as well.
