Heretic

I saw this at the cinema a month or two back, it started off quite well with the mystery of it all but fell off later on

If I’d been watching at home I would have lost interest

Don’t normally watch horror films but really enjoyed this, was glued start to finish, maybe I’m a horror fan:)

Anyone recommend something similar to try?
 
Is this scary? It shows up as horror category and wondering if I should watch

My favourite types of horrors are ones with demonic/evil themes and also found footage.

No. It’s not ‘scary’ in the conventional horror sense. It does contain lingering threat against young women by a man, which might be a little stressful if you are a person sensitive to that sort of thing.

No, it's in the category that this could happen like the film Martyrs and that's what's scary.
It's just a man being weird.
I don't like supernatural horror.

To be reaaally clear:

… your comments are arguably spoiling the film for people that haven’t watched it yet.

The film itself is leaving it unresolved until the final act as to whether something supernatural is happening or not.

You’ll recall that Hugh’s character is trying to convince the woman that something supernatural IS happening... at least, as a game.

I acknowledge that I was being a little cryptic, but you’ll now understand why :p

Surely this should be classed as a thriller, rather than horror?

Lost opportunity with the supernatural part, would be cool to see real resurrection of some ancient prophet.

Well personally no, I was made up that there was no supernatural crap and it was something real people could get up to like in Martyrs
