finalising pricing on products like this takes time.

It is totally understandable that Hexgear have done it this way.

things like BOM, manufacturing and shipping costs are the main factors that need to be considered.

I work closely with much larger case vendors and understand the struggle to get this sort of thing right, so for an enthusiast ran company doing it for the first time, it is daunting and it does take time.
 
I think these are quite similar to parvum system cases except from a metal construction instead of acrylic and hex cases are more rounded off.

I think these will definitely need to be sub £150!

Wouls you be sending any samples for builders to present the case and the company?

Would not mind moving my build into one for a rebuild for a black and red theme!
 
really like the look of that, though would there be a purple available as I've be considering doing a black/purple themed Z97 build if and when funds permit.

If not then even the Black/White would work as I'm considering white coolant anyway

sub £200. If its sub £150 then maybe yes but anything over that just points me at a parvum or another case that's my thoughts anyway haha
 
Same thoughts with Andy, needs to be sub £150 or there abouts. Parvum will do custom work as well for not much more and make it more unique to yourself.
 
I like everything but the pieces that make up the corner lengths. They remind me too much of PVC window construction lol.

I think the only real similarity to a Parvum would be the form factor and the self assembly, the hardware layout, material choice and structure is very different.

At the moment we have the first round of modders and system builders working on 6 R40's due to the high demand we are now looking at increasing the number of 'demo/PR builds' once the final retail batch arrives.

We are currently finalizing the launch accent pack colours but at the moment the list stands as this

- Blue
- Red
- Green
- Pink
- Purple
- Orange

These will be available in both ATX and Reverse-ATX options, other colours will be up for special orders shortly after launch.

The construction is based around 4 heavy duty aluminium profiles, the panels are a mixture of aluminium and steel (steel where strength is needed down the center) The only acrylic parts are the coloured accent sheets and the window.
 
Hello Guys Sorry to join the post late As I actually have one of these cases and have spent the past few weeks taking it apart and building it up again and going over the small details with Hex Gear, basically looking at the stuff that happens once you are actually building it and then putting your rig in it.
The price of the case with what you are actually buying to be less than £200 will make you feel like you got a super deal,
There is nothing that can touch the quality of this for anything like this money. I find it hard to compare it to any other case and I own or have owned more than my fair share of cases, the R40 is TJ07 quality just is that bit smaller for LANs, Just make sure you have had some weetabix as this thing is pretty heavy but so sturdy, Just Well thought out and allows for the end user to fit a lot of cooling into a small space with out ever feeling cramped :)
 
Any chance you could post the proposed dimensions of the cases: I'm assuming MATX? Also rad capacity etc. And sorry to be an old codger but I really can't stand windowed cases, will this have the option of a side panel?

Not having the option really means a no-no for me and I suspect others too.

Good news on the side panels, we will be selling plain replacement panels that can also be used to swap out the window :)
 
you can use for example 38mm deep rads such as the EK PE series when installing them in the bottom or top chamber and putting the fans on the inside or a thicker rad if done the opposite way depending on the motherboard and if you are going single or Dual GPU I put mine on the inside and used stealth rads as I had them to hand

As this is modular can you swap the orientation of the case, i.e.

This

instead of this

Probably too complicated I guess but would be a great feature.

I have actually planned this for my personal build by replacing the rear panel M6 bolts with Long speaker spikes you could very easily flip the case 90 deg and have the cables running from the bottom.

It is not on the 'approved products' list but it's something that I am keen to do personally :)

On the depth, we really wanted to give people enough space in the back recess to route cables, hide hard drives and generally not feel cramped when working on the build, combine that with support for high end air coolers and you have the depth :D

We are still trying our best to work out a way of shipping them with filters however to keep at our target price point we may need to stock these as extras for the launch.
