Hey guys

where are the pictures of your Eagle F1s on the back of your MK2 MR2 Turbo that you weren't sure if they needed replacing (I believe they were down to the canvas?)

I was here when this was all fields.

Was it you in the DC5 on the way to Powerstation when someone who really ought to have known better moved out into the lane ahead of you when you and Gibbo were, er, enjoying a bit of the exuberance of youth?

If so, I was some distance behind you and winced as you basically did a stoppie behind them. I was amazed there wasn't a catastrophic accident! :D

When I was young I had no fear, just drove as fast as I could to what I believed was safe and essentially to the limits of my car and every b road was treated like a track day, clocking some insane speeds. :D

Never had an accident related to speeding though in all my years of driving like a nutter. :)

I do remember @merlin I think it was taking me out in his DC5 and demonstrating how amazing the front LSD was and the speed it could carry going round a roundabout, such an impressive car I am actually on the hunt for a DC5 at present, just want a stock car or close as with no rust and no outrageous asking price now the market is settling. A little like my E30 a car I always wanted in my youth but was never able to afford or I was too occupied by on paper performance and chasing BHP and statistics. I've learnt as I've got older faster never means better and some of the very best drivers cars that offer fun and engagement many would consider slow.

Still after growing up with Vtec cars I think its time to scratch the DC5 itch. :)

The OcUK rolling road days were pure class, all meet and do dyno runs, mods and mooch over cars, then going for an insane crazy speed drive out to a pub, have a meal and then do some more crazy driving on the back roads, I remember myself in the EVO I think 5 up clocking some insane speeds and @TomO doing similar in his AMG or maybe M5 not sure. The roads were far more fun back then, quieter and far less if no cameras to worry about, just watch out for the smokey's. :D

I think my favourite memory of the DC5 was the steering feel - could actually feel the road in your hands. Great car.

Some of the least powerful cars I've driven have been the most fun.

Exception to the rule - my Mum's boyfriend's red Kia Shame that I borrowed to drive to Stoke for a Don do years ago. Horrific and borderline dangerous coming down the M6 in a crosswind in that thing :D
