"Hey Honkey?"

Me and mates went through a faze of calling people Andy Peters (black and gay :( ) if they ever wussed out or wouldn't meet up for a beer.
(obviously I don't mean to offend and coloured botters)
*edit* sorry should that be ethic botters?

Your post hurts my hungover brain.

Also Andi Peters is gay?

Here is Singapore is the first time I have encountered what I would consider racism directed at myself.

Being a white English guy living in a multicultural but predominantly Chinese based country I have been referred to as an ang mor (Hokkien for "red hair" and adopted in to Singlish to mean Caucasian). The term is used more by the older generation (50+) and is not usually meant as an insult but just a term of reference (i.e. while looking at flats for one to purchase the owner commented to my wife in Mandarin "so you married an ang mor").

The more extreme would be ang mor gao which translates to "red haired monkey".

Personally I liken it to me calling a Singaporean Chinese person "slit eye" or the like and I am sure it would not go down too well.

Interestingly enough some Singaporeans also use "Ching chong chinaman" to refer to mainland Chinese and some older people also call the younger generation Singaporean Chinese "banana" with reference to their inability to correctly speak Mandarin and adhere to Chinese customs / values (banana as in white on the inside and yellow on the outside).

It seems minorities all over the world come in for racism and in some places it is accepted as the norm and so not seen as being racist.

I call my black mates *******, nogs, coons, my white mates crackers, whitebread, honkey etc.. they call me yardie ****/beach **** cause i've got caribbean roots but am ethnically asian. We just laugh at it tbh. People are too sensitive. I do find black people to be the most racist though and they tend to use the race card quite a lot. Only time i was outright racially abused was by a black kid.

Anyone here (who is white) actually been called a Honkey? Anyone actually care? Is Cracker another one?

Seeing as I am white and the rules of society dictate I am not allowed to called someone the P word (if they are from Pakistan, although often applied to people are Indian as well). Or the N word (if they have black skin, even though they maybe from Jamaica etc).

I wonder if Chris Rock would mind me referring to him as the N word since he seems to jump on stage and refer to Honks and Crackers etc....

Now here is a question, a Wigger is a white person that wants/thinks they are black. Now is it ok for me to say this? Or can only black people?

So many double standards I cant keep up!

Best solution for you would be to ignore other races as you don't seem to want to get along with them, but I am sure you didn't need an internet forum telling you that :)

To those who say 'say what you want', why hold back, just don't forget the disabled, minors, and other members of society, after all, it is in the name of free speech ;)

I quite often get called "Honkey" so I simply reply back by the use of the"N Word", this usually brings a strong response, but, my 6ft3 and 18stone must make them think better of any forceful actions.

Treat as you find as they say. :D

It is very hypocritical of Black people to get so up tight with what language I use towards them especially when its in reply to a derogatory term used to describe myself!

Heh i use the N word every now and then, but only in friendly greeting to my white friends... as i live in luton middleclassed white people are a minority, my asian friends call me a cracker arsed cracker (chris rock), again just as a friendly digg
