Hi-Def over VGA possible?

As everyone has said VGA will do HD, but DVI will look better and can go all the way upto 2560x1600 if you have a dual link cable.

DVI/HDMI will look sharper because it's a digital connection. With VGA the signal is converted from digital to analogue then back to digital again, so the end result is dependant on the quality of display RAMDAC, the cable and the electronics in the display.

using VGA can also help you get past HDCP and encryption which is handy. some LCD TV's dont like that full res over VGA though, so be careful. Most devices tend to feature HDMI outputs rather than VGA as well obviously, but shouldnt be an issue with a PC graphics card
