Right am currently looking for parts for my first build and i have decided on these parts:

CPU: Intel i7 950
Mobo: Asus X58 Sabertooth TUF Intel X58
RAM: Corsair Dominator GT 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-16000C8 2000MHz
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator CPU Cooler

Right my question if i buy the noctua D14 will this cooler block a DIM slot on the Sabertooth and will it prevent me from installing the Corsair Dominator GT.

I have read reviews saying that it can block a DIM slot, but am not to sure if will if i use the Sabertooth, if this does happen, what other alternative cooler and or RAM do u guys recommended.

P.S I have not bought the parts yet. :D

hey anuraj

Thanks so much for replying, when i was first thinking of building my rig, i was considering the Sandbridge line of cpu, but then i read that the SandyBridge CPU had a limitation which caused problems with SATA so, i drifted away and went back to thinking of buying an i7

Thanks for listing some parts for me, i shall be researching some more on this.

haha

Thanks Again

It has like 5% chance of happening according to my knowledge.
BTW have you got a case power supply and other things already

From my understanding its the P67 motherboards that have the problem, not the CPU, and in a month or two most mobo manufacturers are exchanging any P67 board for the new revision that is due shortly. :)

hi

erm the case that i have is a Thermaltake VH6000SWA and i am currently looking for a power supply, another thing i dont need a graphics card cos my cousin is planning on giving his to me, which is an HIS ATI Radeon HD 5770.

He recommend that i get a 1000watt power supply

Yeah, defo DONT need a 1000w PSU with the above specs! A decent PSU made by a decent company will be more than enough, look to around the 650w as linked to above.

I take it you aren't gaming much with the 5770? I ask as you've spec'd a decent PC but with a low-ish/mid GFX card?

Can u tell me the difference between the the bloomfield Intel i7 950 and the Intel Core i7-2600K how much power to they output has in heat wise

hi

i want this build to be dedicated to BD playback and Gaming, my cusin suggested to my cos its my first build he would safe me some money by giving me his GFX card instead of buying a newer one. He said have this one and then later on get a newer card.

i was hoping to get the newer nvidia cards the 580 but looking at their prices, its way to expensive hehe
