Hi New member (noob :)) need advice on a build.

So the build would be ok if i paid more on a graphics card? also does it make a difference if i use dual or quad cpu for gaming?
 
ok well im going to save up around 600 for the whole thing including an operating system, and sell my ps3 thats gathering dust :) i hope that might be enough because i need to be able to see people die on high settings. Would 600 be enough?

i was a student 2 years ago studying marine engineering, maybe i can just find some one i know thats still a student :)

Ive found out that its only an upgrade and i would still need to have a copy of another version, oh well ill just buy windows 7 for 80 quid or whatever it is :) oh btw is 600 enough for an i5 gaming pc?
 
hello again, my budget will now be 550 without an operating system i will have 1/2 the money in 2 weeks, i will need to order the first few bits as soon as i get paid (else i would spend it on beer lol) would it be a good idea to get the spec you linked but add a gtx 460 into that aswell?

You can do that, but as mentioned before a 1GB Vram card will just be that bit sweeter.

Or just use the PC minus a graphics card until you can afford a a 6850/70/GTX560/GTX460 1G etc.

The motherboard has a HDMI output so if your monitor doesn't have a HDMI input and a cable? you can use a HDMI-DVI cable.
 
That motherboard only supports Crossfire (2 x ATI) but even then it runs he top slot at 16X and the second slot at 4X, this isnt ideal for a pair of cards.

Instead this does SLI+Crossfire at a even 8X/8X when two cards are installed,

You can run three screens of a single ATI card, but one of the monitors must have a displayport input. Or you can use a "Active" displayport to DVI adpater.

there is a exception with the Sapphire "FLEX" card that can run 5 screens from a single card, its able to do any combination of three screens also (2XDVI 1XHDMI) (3XDVI using a supplied converter) etc.


To run three screens of Nvidia you must have a pair of cards otherwise two screens is the max.
