Hi all, new here!

Been reading these forums a lot and I'm looking to upgrade this week before going back to uni. If any of you could give me some feedback on what I've picked that would be helpful as this would be my first build!

The pc is used mainly for 2d/3d CAD and games.

Current specs:

AMD 4600 X2
Don't know motherboard
2GB DDR2
Corsair VX450
320gb HD
8800GT 512mb

The system I'm looking at is as follows... I'm assuming this will be ok with the Corsair VX450 I have, and I know the 8800GT will be a bottleneck but I'd rather not compromise on a processor in order to upgrade the graphics card as my budget is pretty much maxed out.

Looks pretty good to me.

That CPU is a rather good overclocker, if I were you - invest in a good CPU cooler and get 4GHz out of it.

If your budget really is maxed, you could look at UD2 board, if it meets your requirements, and the GSkill Ripjaw RAM, blue stuff at £68

andi - Yep that's something I'll do pretty soon, haven't overclocked before so something to do a bit more reading about!

95thrifles - no its not totally maxed out, I just want kit that's at a good price and well suited to my needs. I'd rather go for a full ATX board, and for the sake of a fiver I'd rather go for some corsair stuff.

So... As long as I'm not making any silly choices... I'll prob go ahead and order mon/tuesday wahoo! Just to make sure, will this deffo work on a VX450?
