always had hibernate on my laptop, when i pull the lid down, but now stuck a ssd in and thinking i could do with the space back, i hear hibernate uses 75% of your memory so that will be 6GB for me!

With a SSD on the laptop, time difference between hibernate and startup would not be that long would it?

i guess not, i would have to get used to it, as i normally just slam the lid and that sets hibernate off.

no worries with read write to the ssd? sure i read somewhere to disable hibernate, but maybe that was for space issues.
