HID colour

It totally depends on the lens to be honest.

My LEDs are 6300K and have turned out a little bluer than I would have hoped. I had 6000K HIDs in my Focus too and that was a little bluer than anticipated also.

In a decent OEM projector lens I do not know how blue it is going to look. In my experience 6000K HID bulbs never produce a white a light as you would want.

I have had an OEM S2000 behind me and the 4300Ks are piercing white (and damn bright) and not yellow at all.

So the question is, will a 996 look good with 6000's or will it look like i have obviously "modded" it. (I hate modded cars). I am not sure about 4300, if my S-class runs 4300 as people think then they are too yellow.

The 6k bulbs did look better on compared to the OEM bulbs due to the bluer light they just didn't give the same amount of light output on the road. They didn't look modded on it's own but no doubt parked up next to another car with OEM bulbs it would have been obvious they have been changed. I might still have them in the garage if I do I can put one back in for a side by side comparison.

Half decent example of colour temp differences as well as (noticeable) loss in light output. Look at the luminance of the contours in the garage door.
