Have a 27" imac with a 1TB hard drive. I've always had about 300GB free on it and was having a spring clean last week to free up more space and yesterday it said that its nearly full

Ran a program called Grand Perspective that is telling me there is 310GB misalliance free space. I cant seem to find it on my drive.

Any ideas where it could be hidden

Ohh massive boo. Sorry mate I didn't pay attention to the sys reqs...and haven't used it myself for a while.

How long have you had it for? Might be worth giving your system a reinstall? 300GB is quite a lot...could be worth it?

Have a look at daisydisk. Lovely piece of software that tells you exactly where all your disk space is being used.

Ace, used that program and found that VLC streamer was using it had the same file in a hidden folder with 340 GB

No more VLC streamer to my iPhone ;)

Thanks Again :D

Glad to hear you fixed it buddy. I wondered how I was losing space at an alarming rate only to find that Spotify was caching my collection to the tune of 11gb. I didn't even have any offline playlists!

I do love the way daisydisk displays all the information in such a beautiful and easy to navigate manner.
