HIFI feet for use with eclipse

Can't you try a local machining company, give them a drawing of what you want. They could then give you a estimate.

If you’re trying to reduce vibration/resonance, Acousti do silicone feet. For me, the mother of all damping materials is Sorbothane. You’ll find Sorbothane HiFi isolating feet on a well-known auction site.

Cheers mate ill check that out. I have some Acousti silicone soft feet for my case but its mainly the look I'm after, i think they look really good on the silverstone cases and could look good on the eclipse. I'm having a hard time finding some though.

ring Tempur and ask for a free sample... ( the space age matress company) they send you a sample in a bag which is the right size to keep your MP3 player in, and the acctual foam material is fantastic at noise / vibration reductions... not too glam. btu it 'just works'

I'm not too fussed about vibration dampening as my case is really quiet and is also on my carpet at the moment.

I mainly want some HIFI style feet for the look of them, i think they will look smart. I might be able to get hold of some aluminium tubing that i could fashion to look like HIFI feet. Or would it be better to use stainless steel?, as i don't think Alu will stay polished for long as it reacts with air?. I also need some sheet stainless steel, a piece about 80mm x 150mm.

I am also planning a few other mods to my case. I'm also going to paint a hiper 480w psu black and install a blue led fan  . Ive gutted it today, had to de-solder a few parts to get it out, bye bye warranty :D .

As soon as Aluminium comes into contact with oxygen it forms a tough layer of Aluminium Oxide over the top, which makes it very resistant to corrosion. Technically that SHOULD keep the shine.

isnt there anywhere that just sell cheap hi-fi feet?

Go round a mate's house and 'borrow' some from his Hi-Fi...but that's not the sort of behaviour that is encouraged.

I'd have thought that some highstreet electronic audiophile stores would stock things like that for not too much £.

E to the B to the A to the Y. ;)
T to the R to the I to the E to the D :D , well unless I'm putting the wrong info in. I suppose there isn't really a market for them as your hifi comes with them firmly attached so theres no need to replace them really. I might just get some 2" stainless tube from egay and make some, should be fairly easy.

Cheers

Those in your op look really nice,

Do they have to be metal ones?

Have you checked for Audio isolation feet?

Well they don't necessarily need to be made of metal as long as they look like silver metal, like the ones in my op. I like the look of the circle feet on hifi equipment and HTPC cases and also some Silverstone cases that Ive seen. I searched for Audio isolation feet in google but could only find spikes and rubber feet, any chance of a link?.

Quick question, which looks better...

The red case will be painted satin black as soon as my paint arrives, the fan was a red Hiper fan but Ive replaced it with a blue coolermaster that Ive frosted the blades on.

Can't I don't think, competitor and all that.

The spikes are to minimise the amount connection with the surface it is on. The spike fits into another part so it is stable. Like these: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/paul.ketteridge/Tapsupportb.JPG

And the second pic looks better imo.

Hmm they look OK actually, they might be a bit on the small side though.

Yeah i think the first one is a bit too gaming case, the second should look good next to the black.

I might get some of them for my hifi and then steal the ones off my hifi for my case, i dont think it'll mind.

those spike feet are pretty good, Ive used them before...

and yeah the first pic with the biohazard type grill is nasty, silver grill with black will be far nicer...
