hi all,

wonder if you can help. i am after a micro or mini hi fi system. with ipod dock or at least something that allows me to connect one up.

i want wireless speakers. (only required for one room) but cant run wires. i don't really need a full spec system where it stores music and can channel to 5 different rooms. just a system that allows me to have wireless speakers. plus good sound and volume.

also i take it the wireless speakers (if they are available) need a power source? is this a mains source or batteries.

thanks a lot in advance.

You can connect just about anything into the wireless transmitter given the appropriate cable. You would need a mini jack to phono cable with the above system.

Pretty sure that all wireless speakers are mains powered not batteries, IMHO its easier to just use a regular wired system, otherwise your filling up the mains sockets, and either can only position the speakers near to sockets, or have long mains power cables anyway, so whats the difference.

Also there is only a limited amount of "legally approved" radio frequencies available in the UK, for example the 2.4Ghz band, which is used for many wireless devices, and is shared between Wireless LAN 802.10 services, bluetooth, various non bluetooth wireless keyboards/mice etc, and can also be affected by household appliances especially microwaves etc. The more wireless devices you pile into a house, the worse the overall performance gets.
