High capacity HDDs - anything new?

I am thinking about getting one big hard drive to use for spare capacity but with the advent of 1.5TB, and a new line from seagate (hopefully not more death drives), as well as the new 32mb cache hitachis, I was wondering if anything new is coming out soon.

I have been looking at a WD Caviar Black as it has good performance and a 5 year warranty on it but was just wondering if anyone knows whether WD are going to release 1.5TB drives etc anytime soon or if any new revisions are on the way in general.

I realise this sounds like a typical, should I buy now or wait thing, but I'm more just wondering if anything good is coming soon as I lack the time to sort out my rig as it is at the moment so I can wait a bit if necessary.

Thanks, with storage as my motive I wouldn't mind taking a GP really, the only reason I'd choose a black at the moment is the longer warranty and the superior performance though with a storage drive I'm not all that arsed to be honest.

Will these larger drives being using platters with more storage density, currently the maximum amount of data per platter is 320GB?

Sorry to hijack but I'm looking at a new hdd too, was going to get a seagate 1.5TB but heard horror stories about them. Are the GP's out very soon and if so would I be best waiting for a black or is there not much between them?
