High Definition Audio, no sound.

I have a Mobo with HD Audio on, but the problem is I cannot get any sound out of it.

So i tried plugging the AC 97 in instead of HDA, nothing. I tried a clean install of Vista because the HD Driver kept on being magically installed. Again the device is still HD

How can i get sound?

Plugged the AC97 in? Don't you mean set the mode in the BIOS?

I got this on an old 945 board and sent it back and it was because the sound chip was faulty or something similar. It MAY not be this in your case but failures do happen.

Working now. Well kind of

Still not in AC mode, but i didn't disable HD Audio in the Bios, just set the front panel to AC so thats why
