You need to get a special driver, that links the two, couldnt find it earlier, a google should pop it up. Worked with my Powershot A80

Not sure why network cameras are so expensive compared to digital cameras that can function as webcams?

For example a 3MP IQEye IQ303 network camera retails for about £1000 I think.

Because they probably connect to the network via optical and record video @ 3mp rather than something like 0.3 of most cameras.

I am guessing this is because they are normally use as surveillance and need to be of a higher quality.

I doubt it records at 3mp, the best digital cameras can only record at 1920x1440 or 2.7Mp.

That is 2.76m pixels...so close enough I would guess

So digital cameras which take photos at 3MP don't record video at 3MP?

Nope, any I have used record at VGA res or lower which is 640x480 or 0.307 mp

No youd be lucky if you got more than 320x240.
