High End 24" ?

! Ergonomically?! What's that got to do with ergonomics?

Everything actually: The IEA define ergonomics as:

Ergonomics (or human factors) is the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance.
.

The oft cited picture for monitor usage is this one:

240px-Computer_Workstation_Variables.jpg

As you can see from that image, the eyes are at the top of the screen looking down as this allows you to see around the screen without constantly moving your head.

Anyone comment on the NEC MultiSync® LCD2470WNX ?

It's a Sammy S-PVA panel inside, so you have the drawbacks of PVA panels. Currently, the only S-IPS 24" stand alone monitor is the Hazro. HP are meant to be releasing one soon, but I don't think anyone has an idea of the price.

I guess S-PVA (nec) is pretty much the same quality as P-MVA (benq)?

I always thought the Benq i used was pretty good, it was almost perfect. Maybe i dont really need a S-IPS/wouldnt notice, or maybe i would appreciate the quality improvement.

How is the S-IPS Hazro for gaming?

I hear what you are saying. I guess for all purposes, at 350-450 quid the monitor should be pretty good anyway.

It's so hard choosing a monitor, buying any other components are relatively easy....

Buying a monitor is very personal. In the end you have to go with your gut feeling based on forum members opinions.

You will never truely know until your monitor is up and running if it's right for you.

i have been trying to decide on a monitor -400 pounds for gaming & 1080p movie vewing for a LONG time, its impossible to decide, there is no monitor thats shines a tad brighter, i really need to decide v soon .. but how do you?! :P

I remember when we had these things called CRTs. The better it was, the better it was all round. It wasn't subjective at all!

Arhh the CRTs memorys!

Maybe time has painted a rosey picture, but I still remember choosing a beautiful (at the time) MAC CRT over an ugly PC CRT.

Arhh my subjective memories.

Apart from the size, I don't remember anything bad with my Diamondtron 2045u. The only thing not rose tintened was the size of the bloody thing.

what about HP LP2465 ?

Hi i've actually been looking at the HP LP2465 this weekend. Flawless build quality, got to love HP for that. Looks like i can pick one up for 299 except the stand has been replaced Ergotron NEO-FLEX, which looks a bit cheap...

The only thing i can find wrong with it is that the input lag is 48mS or so from what i can find. Maybe its been fixed in a new revision?

To be honest, i had not even thought of input lag until 1 week ago when i started looking for a monitor.
