High End Gaming build - Spec Me

But you can keep waiting for the next bit of technology.

Maybe I should've waited for IB-E and the motherboard that are released with that...

I'll see how it goes with 2GB and if it's not enough I'll get 4GB cards.

have you got that much money? I would personally sell them and then get 4gb, actually I would not acctually have bought them and saved up

The system is alive I hear, after some drama with the third GPU not being detected. Manually installed the driver via the device manager, and he now has Tri-SLI. I'm trying to get him to run some benches.

you could have bought the system, then gpu's.......

He did exactly that. He even bought the 2nd cards, and mulled over for a few days before cancelling the 680's (4GB's). I'll be interested in the results of the 2GB's that's for sure.

EDIT: Sounds like possibly one (or more) of the gfx fan's is catching on something when ramping up :-( He's looking to discover what/where the noise is coming from.

On a side note: After looking at a review for this 670.. I REALLY want one now lol. darnit!!

Well, I think 3 cards in SLI using air cooling is possibly not the way to go. the temps are getting pretty high (70-80ºC) depending on the card.

So now need to decide if I go back to using 2 card SLI and try to make to until the 8000/700 series cards are out (and try to wait for all the VRAM option to be released) or DSR the cards and await 4GB 670s.

Not so much VRAM, but did try just 2 cards and temps were much better. Only in low/mid 60s when running Heaven 3.0 benchmark.

The was around 3600 ish I believe at 1920*1080 (I've not set up the 3 monitors yet to try 5760*1080).

The only 4GB 670s I've even seen for pre-order are the EVGA ones with reference coolers.

If there are some 4GB 670s currently available using 3rd party coolers (and preferably the 680 PCB) I'd jump at them.

Well you need to work on you patience man :p

Anyways i'm hearing that 4GB VRAM only comes into play with Tri-SLi .. so poop goes my idea :p

Get them monitors set up!
