High end Ski jacket / waterproof shell

Whats the make of the vans? (Model should be inside) I did have a look in TK maxx today and the 'snowsports' section but most was big bulky stuff. No good for what i would call proper skiing. Do a hard black, some off piste or a 7km top to bottom in one of them and it would feel like you were in a cooker by the time you got to the bottom!

I'll have a look when I get out of the bath. Yeah this is light, very comfortable and easy to move around in. Not really warm enough in the winter for general use, I usually wear a jumper underneath to keep me toasty :D

Everyone compliments it too!

Good point - skiing is never cheap!

Does everyone wear their same ski jacket / shell also as their day to day coat or save it just for skiing? Personally I like only having one coat, shoes, trainers etc for all occasions

I normally just wear a Rab herringbone fleece but put the Rab Myriad over the top if I think it's going to rain or it's breezy. They are pretty much the only two jackets I ever wear.

What protection and what stuff? Had a few beers watching the rugby but dont ghink you have posted yet

Sweet protection is a brand that does skiiing/ kayaking stuff. (Generally quite expensive)

I see you've bought a jacket but I highly recommend browsing sportspursuit for this kind of gear. (I would send a referal link but unfortunately not allowed on the forum :p )

I see - I thought you meant it offered 'sweet protection' :)
Im sure link on here woukd be allowed, as far as I know ocuk dont sell jackets! (A mod may say otherwise though)

HAGLOFS Rando Pro Jacket (Magnetite) at £180 seems like at great buy at sportspursuit. Gore-tex pro shell too. Edit, maybe gore-tex active. Im not really sure and info is muddled

10,000 hydrostatic head rating would be more than sufficient. Hopefully the snow will be dry wherever you are anyway. Note also that as a jacket becomes "more waterproof" it becomes less breathable.

Have you tried Neo'Shell?

It's the only waterproof fabric I can mountain bike in and not boil in the bag.

No I haven't actually.

Either way that's not the point. If you are that hot and sweating (even if it is wicking) then you should be taking layers off IMO. Put them straight back on when you've finished your activity to keep yourself warm.
