Went out photo taking yesterday (just about yesterday now) to High Force, it was a very very impressive place.

Firstly of the ones I've processed (not many) this is my favoruite:

Now this one I'm not as sure about, I'm not sure I like the un-natural look and in particular the colour (was taken from the road on the way there):

What do you recon? I was thinking about taking a crop of a section of it too rather than the full image.

C&C welcomed & encouraged,

Scott.

Both excellent pictures, I remember going there when I was about 5, do they still allow people to go ontop of the rocks as I remember my Dad dangled me over the edge

that 1st one is probably the best i've seen of high force, including my visits there, definitely the best position i've seen it from, the 2nd, i think i did nearly the same scene in ir but it never turned out good enough to show off. Yours looks good though. One thing you did miss though is low force and Bowlees waterfall which imo looks prettier than High force, it's about 1 mile down the road from high force too. Here's a pic for you...

Hey all, thanks for the positive comments, I'm a little surpsied that people like the second one - expected it to be shot down as unrealistic looking HDR :p

is that just HDR or have you done other processing ?
Adjusted the white balance in lightroom and then HDRd them, then did quite a bit more with the colour / contrast etc in photoshop.

Yup :) Had a fun time seeing how close I could get to the edge with a tripod & camera setup lol. I was quite surpried they allow just open access to the top of the waterfall but it's very impressive up there, very powerful stuff.

wez130, that does look very pretty indeed, the problem is we didn't know where low force was or how close it was, and spent all the useful afternoon just at high force. Looks like it may be worth a return trip sometime.

To go against the grain, I think the HDR needs redoing in the first picture because you have some awful awful glow effect around the trees on the left which spoils an otherwise fantastic picture.

The second one is very good, maybe a touch of noise reduction though?

a man died there early this year collecting Rocks for his Fish tank. He fell down the waterfall and drowned im guessing... But yeah.. Stunning Shots mate. where is this place?

Crossy

near barnard castle, i remember reading about the bloke who died there.

Also @ Helium Junkie, no it's not the same one as in the lake districk, however i've been to aria force, that's the one near ullswater right?
