High ping with Google Drive

I use the Google Backup & Sync client on Windows, it has these settings available

Setting a limit will allow you to upload data without totally hosing your connection.

I should pay attention to new posters..


Anyway I don't think the mobile apps have that feature, which is why you need a QoS or bandwidth limiting capable router.

An update. I have now installed backup and sync. Limited speed to 2000kbps and my brother is still getting a high ping in League Of Legends.
Not as high. It was 180ms when I was uploading directly to Google Drive which has no upload speed limiter.
Now he is getting highs of 85ms with average between 60-80ms.

2Mbps is incredibly slow. Why is slowing it down this much still giving him high ping?
