Hey

I've just downloaded OCCT to test my new system and when it starts stressing the CPU a high pitched, continuous beep comes from my system. Does this indicate a problem or can I just remove the little system speaker?

Many thanks for any advice!

What spec?

Have you tried to listen to exactly where the beeps coming from? (Sure it isn't your PSU squeeling?)

I think i've found where it's coming from. I have an abit ip35 m/b and it has a warning beep when you stress it. Am I going to do any damage by running OCCT? apart from my eardrums from this annoying noise!!!

There is proberly a reason why it is beeping, like I mentioned above check temps and fan speeds :)

running a q6600 at 3.31ghz.
got a tuniq tower cooling it so i don't think heat is the problem...
perhaps reinstalling the drivers will help?

just trying to find the cd-rom now... it's in a drawer somewhere... I've got uguru installed which tells me fan speeds/temps but always freezes when i try to close it... perhaps that needs uninstalling

I'm now starting to think it might be the psu...
it's after the 3rd minute of OCCT the psu gets up to 60 degrees then the sound starts.
could it be the psu overheating?

Have you unistalled uGuru software yet *or* have you opened it and looked at the sensors? perhaps there is a slider you need to relax to stop the alarm going off?

i uninstalled the uguru program but it doesn't seem to have made a difference... i've tried running occt a couple of times and the buzzing still comes on after 3 minutes exactly

it will be a temp threshold alarm going off.

Check in the bios, diable and buzzer warning settings and such, cannot remember the exact name of it sorry.

It is in the bios though, i had the same thing before but it was because i was water cooled so had no fan plugged into the cpu header. Very annoying
