Hi,

I need to take screenshots of a workbook (Excel 2016) and turn it into a high res video. The zoom is set to 110% on the workbook. There are 200+ screenshots to take as it is showing graphs/progress throughout weeks 27 to 52.

Googled but there doesn't seem to be a high enough resolution...i have tried print screen and pasting into Paint but if i zoom in a bit, it goes blurry.

I am reluctant to use the snipping tool as it will be different sizes each time?

Also tried to use the screenshot function on Excel to turn it into a Bitmap but this also doesn't come up clear enough.

It is being pasted into Photoshop currently but ideas welcome...!

Thanks

You might try PDF printing too, too larger paper sizes to ensure high enough resolution (I use older non-bloatware pdfcreator);

cleartype fonts maybe messing up your screen grabs too

Greenshot is good for taking multiple screenshots easily (shift+PrtScr) will repeat the last area.

Could try taking them at 4K res if you can upscale/have a 4k screen.

Cheers guys (sorry for the late reply!)

Going to try Greenshot i think. We did try PDFs but its complex to turn them into a video it seems!

I use Gadwin Printscreen for doing random screenshots, it's got some good features and shortcuts. Don't think it's got any automated feature but might be worth a look.

i did something similar at work but in our case it was 32,000 images I ended up coding a program in C# to automatically take screenshots of an entire area then convert images into to video at your selected FPS. whilst being multi core aware. tested it up to 28 cores :)

seem like it could have been handy here... may have to rewrite it for general public use?
