High scores, low fps?

Hey guys! I just picked up a GTX 660 really cheap, and I've compared the frames that other people get to what I get, and I seem to get a lot less then everyone else, even though my PC is about the same in power. I decided to run Firestrike, and weirdly enough I got better score than the average, but my frame is still kinda low. I mainly play wow and CS GO, and the weird thing in wow is that the frame seem to change a lot depending on the camera angle, as show in the pictures here: http://imgur.com/a/Dr4sU this doesn't really feel normal, hopefully you guys can help out! My other specs are a i5 [email protected], 8GB of RAM, and a Asrock z77 PRO4-M. I should also add that the gpu load is 100% when playing

Well the 660 isn't a great card in truth, albeit not a bad one still but it should cope fine with WoW and CS:GO. Your CPU is also fine, so shouldn't bottleneck at all. When you say your frames are kinda low, how low?

Also, when you say compared to others, how are you comparing?

Benchmarks that certain games come with, or just people on the forums saying "I get X fps with a similar setup".

If it's just people on forums and your firestrike score is where it should be, then there's a good chance people are just talking rubbish. Like a lot of people will claim "I get 60fps" and actually mean, "it hits 60fps at some point".

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/37850 Compared to this one :) I get like 30-40 fps when on high on BF3, and I can barely keep 60fps on wow with Good settings (medium more or less), as I showed in the picture however, the fps changes A LOT when I look in different directions, which I don't think should happen

Man WoW is mental. I can get everything from my FPS capped at 144, to dropping to below 20 FPS depending on what's going on, on the screen with the system in my sig.

At least in most Mythic raids I tend to stay above 60fps because it's so enclosed.

The game is Entirely CPU dependant, and your GPU is decent, but with WoD they have increased the GPU requirements. You're also in Shadowmoon valley, and shadows kill fps even for my setup.

Blizzard have stated they're making massive graphics improvements for the upcoming Legion expansion though, and they've always been quick to jump on a new version of DirectX if it gives a performance increase, so hopefully DX12 also comes with Legion.

Even with my rig the Alliance Garrison( Shadowmoon Valley ) can drop my fps to the low 40's at times simply because of the shadows everywhere.

Here are a screenshot from a massive PvP battle where even my System FPS tanks into the ground due to the WoW engine being ancient. You can see in the top right of the image under the minimap that even my FPS can tank to 10 at times.

Yeah I know framedrops happen a lot in wow, but it feels so weird that the frames decrease by like 50% when I move the camera slighty up (check the pics I uploaded), and not being able to stay 60+ on good/high settings with a 660 and i5 3570k..

Depending on how the game is coded, your fps can be affected by your network connection.

Do you have lower than expected performance in single player games?

Also, how are you connected to the internet?

Its just because your looking at the floor or looking into the distance, the more of hte distant world showing the lower the FPS you get, if i look at the floor i get 700 fps then i look into the distance and it goes to 50 fps. Thats just WoW.

Got really fast internet 100/100 via ethernet cable :)

Just played some cs go, I play with 1280x960 stretched, fps went between 250 when starring into the floor and sub 60 when in heavy fire fights.. :/

I would use Display Driver Uninstaller to clean the drivers off your pc. Then reinstall the latest. If you had an AMD card previously then make sure to clean the AMD driver remnants as well.

Already done this, it's a fresh install of W10... Only thing I have is intel HD Graphics driver that auto installed, since I have a extra monitor connected to the mb

In which case make sure windows isn't using the Intel adaptor as your main graphics accelerator...entirely possible it's using the igpu and not the 660.
