High temps even after lapping

Alright, but I seem to get BSODs while stress testing if my vcore is too low.

Geh, this is quite the ****take :p I just reapplied thermal paste thinking I didn't put on enough last time, but the temps are actually higher now.

There was nothing really wrong with your original temps , as i said.

Reapplying more paste will make no difference , quite the reverse.

Small line up the middle for a Quad and let it set in.

No two peoples temps will ever agree , too many variables involved.

A stress test will run you at 100% on all 4 cores to give you an approx. max temp.

Through normal day to day usage, gaming etc. you will never use 4 cores at 100% , so don't stress out about that.

Peaking at 70 degrees will not kill your chip , running it 24/7 will not kill it either ( but i would not recommend ;) )

Your temps are towards the high side at full load , but not near any damaging levels.

my q6600 g0 is a 1.2625 vid. (lapped)

At 3.3ghz my vcore is 1.38 Everest shows 1.30 vc at load.

Core Temp 1 - 66/67
Core Temp 2 - 66/67
Core Temp 3 - 62/63
Core Temp 4 - 62/63

Not too happy about the diff between cores is this normal?

Heatsink is an Ultima 90i with Scythe Kaze Jyuni Slipstream Fan.

All settings in Bios (14) are default apart from vcore and vdimm.

Core temp says I have a VID of 1.2375, not sure what this means?

At moment on idle i'm getting 31,31,28,30 (room is quite warm at the moment)

Same VID & temps as me,i'm running 3.4ghz @ 1.30v in bios & 1.288v in cpu-z.

Pretty good. I managed to bring mine up to 3.4Ghz Primestable on 1.425v in BIOS (which is 1.31v in Windows). Load temps in mid 60s.

Hi Amidar,

What CPU cooling, also case cooling are you using?

Thanks :)

Using a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme & my case in a Mountain Mods U2-UFO 4 x 120mm intakes & 5 x 120mm exhausts all running @ 7v so very quiet (bought it so i could watercool but still haven't got round to it)
