High Temps on Custom loop?

I am getting mid 60s on my 4790K in my custom water loop. I have a D5 running on speed 5, EKWB 360 PE and EKWB 240 SE. The processor is left on stock to turbo up to 4.4ghz. Is this expected temps? I rebuilt my loop to add in my 980Ti and I can't remember what I was getting before.

Feedback would be much appreciated
 
What are you running to get those temps? Also i'd check what voltage you are getting through the CPU.
 
Honestly 60's aren't massively high. What ideal temps do you get?

I haven't done much stressing or anything since changing to x79 but back on my 2700k and 780ti both overclocked I was getting 50 odd on my CPU and 45 on my gpu which is considered fairly decent for 2x 240 rads.

They may be lower than you temps but fans make a difference and so do rads.

Are you hardline or soft tube? Do you have many 90 degree bends my loop is quiet basic and I don't have many at all.

Any game really, I am using MSI Afterburner and it seems to be the odd spike tbh.

My 980Ti I have seen max out at 45 so I am more than happy with that. My idle temps on the CPU are anywhere between 25-30 which seem normal.

I am wondering if it is my case also, I am using the NZXT H440. Fans are Alfenhohm's or however they are spelt. no 90 degree turns in tubing (soft tubing) but using 4 or 5 90 degree fittings.
 
The fittings will be the real hit there but not a drastic change. Your idle temps seem a tad high tbh you must be in a warm room. Mine tend to idle in the low 20's but then again I like it cold. A 30 degree jump is nothing to worry about tbh.

Maybe change up fans not sure how good yours are so don't listen to me do some research.
 
if you are up for it try checking your paste on the cpu block? 60 does look high to me. im no expert though. the case you have could be a major factor. try it with the front off the case and see what temps you are hitting, a lot of people say the h440 has poor air flow.
 
Those temps look fine.

I have a similar loop in a H440, 240mm + 360mm with a 2550K and Titan and my 2550K gets to similar temps under load.

Fittings and pump speed don't make much difference. As long as there is flow. I have my D5 set to speed 1 cause I prefer the silence to a 2C temp change.
 
They seem a tad high. My 5930k hits mid 50s at 4.5ghz and idles at about 18-20c.

Fittings won't give you any impact as long as fluid is moving. Just to show.

I have a single d5 pump. 2 480 rads and a 240. 2 full cover GPU blocks and a cpu block. Every single pipe is bent. I have about 5-6 angled fittings in the loop.

That is with the pump on setting 3. Both GPUs rarely go above 40c after hours of gaming at 1480mhz. The CPU rarely goes above 50c. Even setting 5 yields no difference. Setting 1 yields a degree or two increase.

I would suggest a re-paste on the IHS with some gelid gc extreme. Turn Down the pump. Faster flow rate isn't always better. Only other thing is to ensure good airflow and quality fans.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I changed the paste yesterday. Seemed ok when I took the block of but proceeded anyway. I have lowered my pump down to 3 from 5 and also had the front off this morning. Just ran Firestrike as a quick little test and my CPU hit 61 max. I have left my voltage on auto and seen it up to 1.264.

I will look into some other fans to assess my options.

I'm using the same case. With a 6700k at 4.7ghz and around 1.32V, plus a hot 390X in the loop I see high 60s sometimes low 70s with a single PE360 rad. I would have thought your temps would be about right tbh.

See if I got temps that high I'd be in a slight panic but good for OP knowing you get similar temps with the same case :)
 
Doesn't bother me, I'm trying to run it as quietly as possible so happy with those temps. They are also max temps. On average when gaming CPU is in the 50's and GPU is around 60 :)

That's a tad odd as mine are the other way round. GPU doesn't reach 50 but CPU will happily sit around 60-70.

Aren't you Nvidia though? Don't AMD cards tend to run hotter? Mine would hit the 80's when it was on air still.

Your build was the inspiration for mine by the way :cool:
 
Update - ordered and fitted some SP120s HP I am now idling around 25-27 and when I had the window open earlier I seen as low as 20 across some cores. Max temp I saw was 59 with the gpu hitting 35 tops.

Seems like the fans were the issue, so looks like problem is solved. Will continue to monitor for a few more days.
