High usage tethering options?

so what is the deal with the one plan, is it 2GB cap or unlimited tethering allowed still? there is a lot of confusion on the net about what is happening?

If you sign up for the One Plan SIM ONLY either 30 day or 12 month contract then you can still tether as much as you like. There is NO 2GB CAP and so is unlimited

Three's sim only tariffs have not changed, it is only the 2 year contracts with a new phone.

My 2 year with phone contract expired and opted to go sim only One Plan and can assure you that plan remains unchanged.

The other sim only plans (that aren't the one plan) from Three also remain unchanged and tethering is not allowed unless you buy an add on. It's all fairly clear on Three's website now.

You can sign online as well :D

I get that but reading this http://www.three.co.uk/ThreePortal/...goBlobs&blobwhere=1223584153774&ssbinary=true

From the link off the one plan 30 day details here http://store.three.co.uk/SIM_Only/Voice_Pay_Monthly

Makes no reference at all to tethering or personal hotspot other than the 2gb limit that you can increase by another 1gb?

I want to see someone say it to my face and seeing as I'm moving to maidenhead about half a mile from their head office I can make a nuisance of myself if they tell me fibs! :)

<Resists urge to bang head against wall> :D

I agree that when 'view plan details' is clicked it says nothing about tethering. If you click the other sim only plans then it does say you can't tether on them.

BUT - I've just taken the sim only one plan and have been assured it remains the same and you can tether all you like. But go ask and I'm sure they'll tell you the same :D I agree though the links off their website are confusing  I'm only repeating what the rep told me in the shop when upgrading my tarrif.

Can three tell if you're tethering if you do it off an Android phone? When I switch my SIM between my iPhone and Moto X, tethering is disabled on the iPhone, but works a treat from the Android device.

Well, quick report... I got a 3 sim, one plan, £23 a month and hammered the living daylights out of it. It averaged about 6mb down and was pretty much flawless, in fact it was slightly better than the standard broadband BT put in!

Back to fibre now.. phew!
