I have a Samsung LA32R81BDX it is currently running at 1360 x 768. Im using a 9800gt via vga and was wondering whether at that res it is worth an upgrade to a GTX 260. Also would a DVI to HDMI converter allow me to run at a higher res? Im a complete numpty when it comes to tv's :p

the answer was to both your questions but now you have changed a question....... so it doesnt apply to both anymore:p

You can't run a screen beyond its native resolution.

From a very quick Google you're already running at the maximum available resolution.

Using a DVI to HDMI convertor isn't going to change the available resolution. A GTX 260 isn't going to change the resolution either, but it may increase the FPS. I don't play games so I can't judge whether a new video card is worthwhile or not.

An upgrade to a GTX260 would just improve your FPS if anything. Unless you're connecting to a monitor bigger than 22" I wouldnt advise this upgrade.

Indeed it would be pointless, you wouldnt gain anything apart from the FPS but at that res you probably wouldnt get more out of it than your already getting.
