SCIENTISTS are conducting experiments to change the sexuality of “gay” sheep in a programme that critics fear could pave the way for breeding out homosexuality in humans.

The technique being developed by American researchers adjusts the hormonal balance in the brains of homosexual rams so that they are more inclined to mate with ewes.

Scientists aim to chemically reduce the chance that your child may have homosexual tendencies... hence 'straightening'

Perhaps it is simply a counter to the excessive amounts of oestrogen in the water supply.

Mind you if these experiments prove that sexual tendencies are simply the result of chemical and hormonal balances you'd have to question any religion that still believes that being gay is a sin against god...... Go gay sheep

If I thought my child was definately going to be a rug muncher or sausage jockey I would start saving up for the gene therapy straight away. At last something useful out of all this Frankenstein medicine.

On a side issue, how do they know a ram is a shirtlifter by inclination and not just so fired up that they shag the nearest object resembling a sheep, much like a Welshman would.

Our planet is arguably grossly overpopulated as it is, the last thing we need is to cure nancy boys. Less women for straight blokes that way too. Regarding lesbians, I don't buy it, they're just ugly birds who no straight bloke will mount.

This could have worrying consequences. But if you think about it, will it really hurt people? If a pregnant mother is given this "therapy" and the child grows up to be straight they will hardly turn around when they are older and complain that they aren't gay. As long as people who are gay now aren't affected, it's not directly hurting anyone. But of course if this becomes the norm, anyone who still turns out gay (parents didn't have the "treatment" or it didn't work) will be an outcast. It's a very complicated matter.

erm, how about the fact that most of us are perfectly happy as we are, i would find it utterly devastating if as an adult i was to find out that a procedure was carried out on me as a child that shaped my entire personality and life. I would spend the rest of my days wondering what my life could have been like if only they hadent "treated me"

they are your son / daughter and if they are gay and you cant love them for what they are because your too busy thinking about yourself then to be honest thats the mark of a terrible parent.

And the same goes for any of you supposedly "civilised" people that would even consider having a problem with a gay child. I can tell you from personal experience all any child wants, gay or straight is acceptance and love from their parents, and when they are denied these things through no fault of their own it is devastating to them for the rest of their lives.

But at the same time they should not be forced or coerced in any way to change. The responsibility is with the parent to accept and love them as they are, not for the child to conform to the parents wishes / views.

Also on a side note rams have always done this, they are inherently bisexual.
