Don't skimp on a PSU! (IMO) its the most important component of a build. Just remember you don't need crazy xxxWatts, e.g. a 450W PSU is even good enough for a 8800GTX based system!Ade74 said:{snip}...and i can not really afford any of the others that are the same approx wattage, as i am slightly over budget (£270 over) on the new system i am getting{snip}

What's your specs?
But how did you manage 508Ws? With above details & 100% TDP, (unnecessary) 15% Surge Compensation & 20% Capacitor Aging, only managed 377W

Anyway, any of these will do:
*Modular

For that then you need to stretch for a PSU in the 600W rangeAde74 said:{snip}i.e. if at a later date i wanted to add another x1950 pro{snip}
Look at it as owning a 'luxury' car, i.e. don't/can't do it nor run it cheap
