Hiper vs Enermax/Corsair

So anyway.........yesterday my Hiper TypeR 580w went pop and I started looking for a replacement;

Enermax Infiniti 650w or Corsair HX 620w.

Then I realised that my Hiper is still under warranty but it was too late.......because I'd already got it into my head that I was gonna buy a new one!

So the question is, is it worth it? Will one of those be quieter and give me more potential for oc'ing or should I just get the Hiper repaired and spend the money on something else?

Yep........firm, but fair me thinks.

I hope it doesn't take too long to get it back. Anyone RMA'd something with Hiper before?

I was wondering about that. I won't know if anything's been damaged till I get a PSU back in the machine.

If it has damaged the other components, is it possible to claim that from Hiper?

Ordering the Enermax now.

Well now I feel wasteful for buying the Enermax replacement, stupid for buying the Hiper in the first place and stressed out at the thought that it might of nuked the rest of my pride and joy.

I almost wish I'd never asked. I'm genuinely worried now.

What can i get from Hiper if it has damaged other components?

Fortunately the failure of my Hiper Type R 580w didn't damage any components.

How pleased am I!!

I couldn't wait for the Hiper to get sorted, and the ramblings of you lot made me paranoid about having it, so I bought an Enermax Infinity. The Hiper will probably be sold when I get it back.

One thing I'd like to say in Hiper's defence is that they have been very helpful and they're RMA service so far has been excellent. I only hope this, and some improved component quality, can give they're reputation a much needed boost. After all, the more companies out there selling quality components with excellent customer service, the better it is for all of us.

Thanks to everyone who posted to help me get this sorted. Now stop arguing and go frag each other!

I only bought the Enermax because the tests and reviews that I looked at showed that they were efficient, quiet and stable which is exactly what happened when I bought the Hiper.

I firmly accept that, one day, the Enermax might fail and I will probably go out and buy something that has the right reputation. There's no brand allegiance, I just want the best product for my money.

You pays your money............you takes your choice.
