Not a good thing. I want to buy in November and was hoping for price reduction. It seems because of lack of stock the price can go up.

No, Fatboy said they were coming through an ATi distributor.. rather than direct from Ati.

So said Distributor has added their bit on... thus why they went up in price.

I'm hoping for some nice reductions around Christmas.

no it's the exchange rate which determins the price hike and distributor costs as mentioned above.

nothing OCUK can do about that. Just hope the next batch they buy in is brought with a very high exchange rate to keep costs down. But then on Jan 1st it'll all go back up again

Wait for stock to become widely available and prices will drop. What difference will a few days, or a few weeks really make? OcUK are not the only ones pricing some of these cards above £199. Most of the competition with 5850's in-stock are charging above the RRP. Simple demand and supply.
