If you've plugged in two cards and neither are working, that may actually be a positive thing (as in the fault lies elsewhere).
A few things to check:
1) Something may have caused the computer to revert back to using an integrated graphics. Does your computer have on board graphics?
there is no dvi or hdmi
If it does, try plugging the cable into the display output on the IO shield.
2) Do you have a different cable to plug in to the monitor? Similarly, can you plug your graphics card using a different output (e.g. VGA, HDMI or DisplayPort instead of DVI)? One of the input ports on the monitor may not be working.
I have tested all of the above
3) Can you manually select an output on the monitor? I accidentally set my U2412 to 'DisplayPort' when I was connected with DVI and was shocked for a while that it refused to work.
no not on mine
4) I am not asking this in a condescending way, but do you have anything else plugged into the graphics card? (I once spent 45 mins trying to figure out why my screen would turn off after the 'Starting Windows' screen until I figured out the last time I logged off, I was playing FIFA on the telly). Sometimes if the computer doesn't recognise the right resolution or frame rate, it can cause a blank screen.
No
5) Is it at all feasible to try a different monitor (even a TV) to double check the fault lies with the card and not the monitor?
Yes tested on 2 monitors
These are all the things that I can think of that could be preventing your screen from showing apart from the dreaded GPU R.I.P. scenario.
