Hit and run... not so far

Get the police to have a word with him and I bet he will keel over.

The following could never be recommended:

If the police fob you off then embellish the story with vague non provable facts to a sufficient degree that they will investigate (he left the scene of an accident without exchanging details, a random passerby has since Informed you he was possibly drunk at the time and appeared aggressive, you felt threatened with the tone of his communication and are concerned that the peace may in future be breched, whatever it takes)

I'm sure this isn't just CSI rubbish but if you insist the police take samples of the paint and dirt left and that of the accused, it can be matched up..
Then you have a nice case of failure to report.
Failure to produce
Perverting the course of justice etc etc

or you could just suck it up the bum and pay for it yourself through your insurance....

The choice is yours.

Only if someone was injured in the accident. Which they weren't.

Or if damage was caused to another person's property. Or are you suggesting that if you drove through someone's house and then drove off, they wouldn't be able to involve the police unless someone was injured? ;)

OP's car is obviously worthless, otherwise he would have kicked the door down and stabbed the guy and take what he can find to sell on ebay to pay for the repairs.

So had my first day off and went to my parents who happen to have a proper home garage to use.
Took off the bumper and found the cross member bent, Picked up a good spare from a scrapped car (front end impact) and fitted for the price of £20.
The parking sensor is still working correctly so that's good news.

Managed to push out/remould the bumper as best as possible, currently only a tennis sized flat spot, which is better than it was. that included with a new fitting kit (£17 from mazda)

I will need to look out on ebay and have left a feeler with pretty much every scrappy in south wales.

So will have to wait until one pops up on the market.

If I wanted to do it seriously I would drain his diff of oil, no warning on dashboard for that and would write off the car. Or I could could poor oven cleaner onto his wiring loam as it enters the engine bay, this would mess up the electronics and eventually kill the car.
Or remove bolts from his alloys and aradite them in/ puncture his tyre and super glue/ epoxy fill the security locking bolts.
Or superglue his locks, put his windows in on a wet night, get underneath and drop his oil/water. Get underneath and wrap his timing belt in steel wire tight and long enough that it jumps teeth, cut cam belt slightly so it fails, use expanding foam into his airbox intake. force rotten fish down the air intakes for the cabin, prise open his fuel cap and pour the following: sand/plastic table tenis ball, metal fillings or sugar in.

or just grab a plant pot: line with grease proof paper, add 3/4 iron oxide and 1/4 aluminium fine powder, use magnesium ribbon as a starter, place over his engine block and use a high temperature lighter to light then leg it.

Unfortunately these are all obvious signs of vandalism, so would result in a tick for tack battle until one of us dies.

What could happen is he gets a puncture from running over a screw and finds his spare is knackered as well, that would be bad luck wouldn't it.

Thermite on some ones car would be brutal!

You seem to have put a lot of thought into these sadistic schemes Abraxaz1, I hope I don't cut you up on the road one day or something! :p

Haha, I'm a big softie, it takes a lot for me to lose my cool.
I only know this stuff because my dad used to bring home certain manuals from work and left them lying around the house. Only ever had to put a window in on a car once, stupid cow left her two dogs in a car middle of summer, group of people trying to smash the windows with rocks, which would just bounce off. Got a screw driver (flathead) rammed it between the glass and the door frame and levered towards me and it popped but other than that I have never intentionally damaged some ones car.

I would be incredibly annoyed if I was in your position I must admit. The only thing worse than coming back to a damaged car is knowing who did it but being powerless to make them admit responsibility and fix the mess they caused in the first place!
