Case solved, maybe the plods could start to look there?

Hrm I can't see the plods wanting to go around ***** sites... I would be shocked if they actually did this. Their words were "There's not much we can do as the plate isn't registered."

I wonder how many other shady types are getting away with things like this. Makes you angry when you consider how ridiculous insurance premiums can be (I guess in part due to prats like these).

The old bill won't do anything as I've been in a similar situation.

Wifes car which was parked outside our house got hit by what I presume was a drunk reversing down our road at high speed. He then sped off by mounting the pavement and nearly running over some people who were walking along the pavement. Called the old bill, their response was to come into the local cop shop and file a report and that was it. The car was apparently registered to an old biddy who had never seen/heard of the car. A week later my wife whilst going for a walk round the block found the car abandoned around half a mile from our house. Took pics of the car and rang the plod, you'll never guess what they asked me, 'Is the car taxed?' is what they asked, the car was taxed so in that case there was nothing else they could/would do. A few days later somebody came and picked the car up.
