Hitachi 3tb HDD doesn't work in Asus P755DE

Hello, I just received the Hitachi 3TB Hdd from overclockers . I have just spent the past 4 hours trying to get it to work. I have updated my mb Bios, Windows drivers the works but the HDD does not appear in the bios at all. I have tried different sata cables. different sata power supplies etc. I can heard the HDD trying to whirl up but it thuds thuds and stops.

I have tried all the SATA slots including the marvell controller and the bios will not see the Hitachi Deskstar anywhere.

Is it because its not compatible or do I have a duff drive ?

But before trying this, make sure your drive does actually work, and isn't faulty
best to try it in another rig if possible, just to make sure the HD itself isn't naffed.

I think the problem is the bios or the drive itself as both my different sata controllers ( intel and marvell ) cannot see the drive. I have checked the compatability Hitachi chart and it says it should work.

This is not my main drive but a spare storage drive to my Crucial SSD and my Vertex SSD.

I will take it to work today to see if the work and see if the pcs there can see the drive at all in the bios

Just tried it on 2 new pcs at work, not detected at all in the bios, have raised a webnote. My first ever DOA Hdd in 20 years of Pc purchases.
