Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 1TB READS ONLY 698GB

What does Windows Management & or hard drive tools (check/get from manufactures website) say?

Hi there,

I have a 750GB Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 and that reads as 698.64GB. That's correct for me so you probably received a 750GB model instead of the 1000GB one.

You've been bummed in the gob there.
 
My 400gb reads as 372.60gb. So if I multiply 1024 (1TB) by 0.9315, I get 953.86gb.

698 * 0.9315 = 749.33gb. So I reckon you've received a 750gb drive, by accident...unlucky!
 
trouble is bought the drive ages ago - never thought to check it - can't even remember where from - will check info/serial on drive in a mo.. ;-(
 
Yeap The order went wrong!!

Luckily i've found the order slip

Meant to be a 1TB actually sent out the 750GB - all is cool ;-)

If you bought it "ages ago" unlikely you'll have bought a 1TB.
