Hitachi Deskstar question.

I read the other day that Hitachi set their sata 2 drives to sata 1 speeds and you have to use their software to set it to sata 2, it's dos software that you burn to disk, well I have a Hitachi_HDT725025VLA380 it's about 2 years old, when I burn the disk and boot up the programme boots fine but it won't see the disk, only an old Maxtor IDE drive, anyone know a way of checking what mine is set to in windows or something.

Hitatchi switched to defaulting to SATA300 from the T7K500 series if I remember right.

Anyway you'll see no performance difference between SATA300 and SATA150, if it's working I wouldn't bother changing it.
