Hitachi Sata2 query

Hi

I have asked this as part of a set of questions about my soon to be re-built PC but as no response about this particular question, thought I'd post it in a more appropriate forum.

I have a Sata2 Hitachi drive currently running Sata1. I have created the bootable floppy to switch it to Sata2. Question. Can I do this on the new system "before" I install the new operation system? IE. will it boot from this disk without an OS present? or should I do this on the old system while there is still an O/S available?

You can do it either before or after the reinstall. The feature tool disk has it's own OS on the floppy.
