Hitchens interview

DAMN IT I just missed it! I was saying to myself all day "remember the interview" :(
Going to watch it on demand now

Tbh Blair is coming across much as he did in government, his opening speech is good but rehearsed and afterwards falls flat on his face. I'd go as far to say Hitchens is toying with him most of the time and it's wonderful to watch.

While I don't think there's a doubt about who won the debate I reckon you're being a little harsh on Mr Blair there, he did make some good and fair points but as I guessed from the first couple of clips he was severely outclassed from the start and I'd even go as far as to say was starting from the more difficult position. It's a bit like going up against 1970s Brazil when you're Cowdenbeath (any year you care to choose), if you can keep the scoreline to within half a dozen goals of them then you're probably doing ok overall.

A very interesting little debate, I suspect I'd have to watch/listen to it again to get a bit more from it.

I agree, it was such a joy to listen to. I could have sat there in awe for hours. :o

I felt that he was on the cusp of saying something profound on his beliefs and how they have been affected by his illness, yet the short format denied him and us from it.

I am not talking about religion per se, his position is as it always was, but he seemed to hint at something regarding how he felt about death and purpose.

Why on earth would Tony even accept his offer of a debate? He's clearly going to get destroyed.

Few mins in and already raging over Tony mentioning health care being supported by religious organisations... and people moaned, wondering why Dawkins set up his atheist organisation, lulz.
