Hive 2

Go Nest, you won't regret it. I also feel that having the financial weight of Google behind them, that there will hopefully be decent support given to it for a long time to come.

There's a bunch of in-fighting at Nest and the whole Google/Alphabet takeover hasn't helped. And they keep pushing out buggy firmware for their smoke detectors.

I wouldn't ever bank on long-term support from Google for anything.

I went for Nest over Hive. I preferred the learning features, thermostat and general ease of use compared to Hive. That said, Hive 2 is still a good product, just not as innovative compared to Nest.

Hi, sorry to hijack, im having Central Heating installed in my house soon (Hot Air Flow System de-installed) and for £35 i can have the Nest system installed...how have you found this and is there anything i should be asking the Central Heating guy beforehand? I.e is it possible to turn on rads upstairs but not downstairs etc with the app.

Im a bit of newbie to all this house upgrading but i thought for the money it would be a great addition and very good for when both of us are out but coming home and want the house toasty, especially in the winter months:)

I had nest and found that it was never quite accurate with temperatures (the 2nd gen nest) I have now got the Hive2 and it has worked better in that sense.

I miss the fact that the nest learnt (not always a good thing) but I have no issues with Hive2

Thanks for the feedback, il have to ask the CH guy which version he was offering also. When you say learnt, are you saying the system, would tell traits/characteritics of my behavioural pattern with the temperatures i set the house to?
