Hive wiring

Another hive wiring question sorry!

So into my thermostat i have a grey brown and black. Not what i was expecting. Obviously an earth also.

They are into connectors only labled as 1 2 3 and 4.

Anyone hazard a guess as to what they relate to in relation to hive wiring?

If you look at the back of the thermostat where the wires go in there should be a wiring diagram.

Any pictures of what you currently have? Is it a combi with just a thermostat? Or a conventional boiler with timer and thermostat? Boiler make/model etc? Should be able to help with more details.

Are any cables sleeved. The grey is usually used as a neutral but must be sleeved with blue leaving the black and brown as live. How is it wired in at the other end.

Thats the thermostat control. Very basic one

Just found a diagram so live and neutral i know but something on diagram down as M? Which on my thermostat is connected into 3.

Wited it up for live and neutral but that last spare cable eluding me. Heatings not coming on and tried it on connections 1 and 3 on cable jct. guess will try 2 to rule out that as a problem

The 4th wire could have been in place for air conditioning that is not actually fitted anymore.
