I got Lost Coast running, albeit badly, on a 2.6GHz P4 [no HT], 512MB RAM and a good ole ATi 9600 XT :D

SiriusB

What do you get on the stree test with everything maxed out?

HL2 had loads of WOW, EP 1 for me lost all that somehow  I found it a tad boring (so now hopefully you go into it not expecting much and enoy it :) ), ps in answer to your question my mates 6600gt and 3000 venice ran it fine ;)

the fact that i 've had so many problems with it?

And I have had none what so ever.

Nothing wrong with Steam. In fact, I think it's a fantastic content delivery system.

P4 3.4 Northwood
Abit IC7 - Max 3 - sckt 478 (yeah its old)
Radeon 9800PRO

your PC outstrips mine by miles and mine ran it at 1280 x 1024 with HDR on and no stuttering. :)

Aparentely multi-threading is being added to the source engine soon. :)

so you had no problems with it hl2 came out?
The vast majority of people have no Steam problems these days, sure there were issues when Half-Life 2 was released and everybody tried to unlock at the same time, same with any major release, but it's expected.

Cant say i did either tbh.
A few minor issues, bizzarly, on my 2nd play through, but the first time, none at all.

I run it at high settings, 1920x1200 on a 7800GT and 3700+, looks and runs perfect to me :)

well it did. how bout the fact that I had played MANY great games since I first played HL2 and had also probably remembered HL2 as the greatest thing I had ever played so playing EP1 what feels like years later the WOW for me was no longer there :( .

Episode 2 hasn't even been released yet, that's what he was getting at.
