Tried the search and google - no luck!

What's that high-resolution textures mod people were talking about on here? Anyone got a link?

how much does it impact performance?
i'd also like to know if it'll cause any forms of mismatching, before i even attempt to download that beast of a file.
 
Just download then follow the included instructions which are basically copy certain folders into your valve\steam\steamapps\sourcemods folder then select it from the HL2 mods menu before launching steam to run the game.

Does look a lot better than the std textures and worth the download (1.1GB uncompressed).

All the guy responsible for the mod has done is photoshop most of the game texturs/models & replace the low res stuff for much higher res textures. To be fair he has also added some cool music to run ingame where there was none and even done a small WMV video file intro.

A lot of work for 1 guy to do! Must be a big fanboy/saddo! LOL

nah, you extract it to a mods folder in your valvle > steam folder iirc

then once you reload steam it shows up as a mod

its ok here, i guess it depends on the rest of your specs

the whole games isnt re done, at the moment its models, weapons and vechicles and a few little things here and there that are hardly noticeable.

Should easily do so. My old one did @ 1920x1200 with 2GB Ram + 3.8Ghz P4.
